Just uh, file off those funny two points, I'm sure the factory just forgot to thread it. Some tape should fix that up real good.

Indeed and I had to go some distance to find screw in bulbs as opposed to the usual bayonet fittings.

Have similar bulbs to that in one of our ceiling lamps here, but all the bulbs were replaced with dimmable LEDs. Cost a lot, but will pay for themselves in time.

Yes, it's a bayonet fitting which is the norm for light bulbs here. The screw in is unusual.

I bought this for a property that I'm renting out so the cost of the electricity isn't my problem! I priced LED bulbs and they were something like €15.
